Jami Terrell holds a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where she graduated with distinction and was admitted to the Traynor Honor Society. While in law school, Ms. Terrell received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Business Planning and focused her studies on business and tax law. Prior to attending law school, she earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Davis. Ms. Terrell has over nine years of experience in the practice of law in both the private and public sectors, including serving as lead supervisor to a team of up to 15 attorneys.

Ms. Terrell counsels public agencies in a variety of areas including labor and employment law, the Ralph M. Brown “Open Meeting” Act, contracting and purchasing, and special district governance. She regularly advises human resources departments (both public and private) on employment issues and has appeared before the State Personnel Board and other administrative agencies. Given her personal experience as a manager, Ms. Terrell understands the challenges faced by employers and is able to provide practical guidance and training. Ms. Terrell’s business practice is also wide-ranging and focuses on transactional matters such as corporate and partnership formation, purchase and sale agreements, and employment agreements. Ms. Terrell’s extensive experience in both administrative and civil litigation enables her to anticipate and analyze issues that could potentially lead to litigation and avoid such litigation, where possible. Ms. Terrell also provides representation to the firm’s clients in the areas of family law (particularly in the preparation of premarital and post marital agreements) and estate planning. Ms. Terrell’s wide range of knowledge and years of experience allow her to provide all of the firm’s clients with well-rounded advice and counsel.

In all areas of her practice, Ms. Terrell is efficient yet thorough and detail-oriented. She believes in providing high-quality service and enjoys putting her clients at ease while navigating them through the ins and outs of the complicated legal world. Ms. Terrell belongs to the Placer County Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
